atlanta baby photographer; elwood is 6 months old!
There is something so extra special about getting to photograph families who are clients that have become friends. I first met this family during their pregnancy, and was honored to be their birth doula, and to be asked to document the journey with pregnancy, birth, newborn and now baby photography. Elwood is simply adorable, and as sweet as his awesome parents!
For his 6 month old baby session, we started in downtown Decatur, and then went back to their house to finish our session. I love including a special place and my client's home in photo sessions.
I offer clients a package that I call the Whole Journey. This includes a pregnancy photography session, birth doula services, birth photography and newborn photography. What an incredible time to be invited into your home to support and document it for you!
I also offer clients a photography package that I call the 365 project. It documents your baby's first year at three very different points: newborn, 6 months old, and one year old. It amazes me how much changes during this one year! I think it's so much fun to be able to then design a beautiful album that my clients will treasure for years to come.
My photography style is what I call "lifestyle" or "life inspired" photography. It is somewhere between portraiture and photo-journalism. It is not capturing perfection, and it is not just being a fly on the wall, but it is capturing authentic moments of parenthood and childhood and family.
Even the messes are so beautiful, and worth documenting! The authentic pictures are the ones that you look at years later and feel something. They can launch you right back to that time of your baby's teething age, or your 2nd grader's toothless mouth!
I always try to capture a nice "portrait" for families, but it is the authentic moments between a mom and baby or teenage siblings that really gets me excited!
