Maternity + Newborn Photography | Atlanta

One of the things that has always drawn me to photography is the power of a photograph to tell a story. It was this passion that led me to photojournalism, and it has shaped my style of family photography. I am always excited when I get to have multiple photo sessions with a family to better tell the story of welcoming their new baby.

I met the Sayeds for a maternity photo session a couple of months ago. We met at a beautiful park, and got some great photos of them interacting and loving each other. Once their sweet newborn baby arrived, I went to their home to tell another piece of their story.

Maternity and newborn photography work together to show this amazing moment in a family's life. They can have an album to hold and look through as their baby grows up, and remember this chapter clearly.

I can't wait to see them again when baby boy turns one!

My approach to family photography sessions is a laid back one. I want my clients to wear what they feel great in, and have fun together. My newborn sessions are at home, when your baby is around two weeks old. We let your baby guide the session; if she wants to be in your arms only, that is fine! I don't want to add to the stress of having a newborn, and what's true is that you and your family are beautiful in this moment, and that is what I want to capture.

I only photograph babies in natural positions (no head on hands shots), and I don't photoshop things off of babies. I think that the peeling skin is part of the story, and babies are perfect just the way they are. I want to make pictures for you to cherish, that you can look back on and remember the snuggles, and how you feel when you rub your tiny baby's cheek.
