I photographed this lovely family to document and celebrate the newest member of their family, cute little Gabriel! He was 12 days old at our newborn session, and already learning to sleep through the chaos that comes with a toddler in the house. Big brother Julian was so much fun to photograph--he is super quick, and kept me on my toes. By the end of our session he was giving me the sweetest big hugs and then running away. LOL. What a cutie. The boys' gorgeous Grandma was also visiting, so we got some awesome shots of her holding the baby. Our session lasted about two hours, including a snack break, and I'm excited about the beautiful photographs we got. Some of my favorites:
I offer my newborn photo sessions in your home, so that your photographs truly reflect you and your family in this moment. We take our time, and my hope is that you enjoy your time with your baby while I document it. I don't bring props, and I don't photograph babies in any unnatural poses. While I think this can be done in a cute way, it's just not for me. I think a photograph of a baby in her crib or snuggling with family is more interesting than babies in baskets. Those photos started to all look the same to me, which is why I shifted to lifestyle newborn photography. I want to tell a story, your story in this moment (and that might include your baby's peeling skin). I think albums are the perfect way to display my newborn photos. So for each newborn client I design an album and send an online link to it. My clients can request changes and we can tweak it until it is perfect, all online and at our own pace. I use the gorgeous photo books from Red Tree Albums to beautifully document newborn sessions.
