Atlanta Family Yearbook | A Year in the Life | Summer 2025
Subscription Documentary Family Photography
“Documentary Family Photography is stress free—not in the ‘Don’t worry I’ll make your family look perfect’ kind of way, but in the ‘Don’t worry, your family is perfect just the way you are’ kind of way”
-Chanda Williams
It’s been a busy summer, and I’m thrilled that hints of fall are in the air. Whenever the season starts to shift, I can’t help but reminisce, and this summer flew by. I’m glad I was able to stop time momentarily for my Year in the Life families.
A Year In The Life
A Year in the Life project started as a way to give other families what I give my own family—pictures of our life throughout the year, mostly candid with a few portraits thrown in here and there, and then the best highlighted in a beautiful album. The first year I offered this to families, I fell completely in love with working this way.
Year in the Life is a monthly subscription—’a set it and forget it’ approach. Families choose to have 4, 6, or 12 sessions in the calendar year. Sessions are mostly documentary (meaning zero prep required and zero pressure to perform or even behave), and because I’m there every so often, it’s easy for everyone to ignore me.

Below are some of my favorites from some of this summer’s sessions.
An evening in the life—Dad made pasta dinner while Mom and the kids played, and after dinner, it was bubble bath time.
What is more summer than making lemonade and cutting up a watermelon? Heading to the backyard to collect blackberries! We finished our time with a walk to East Atlanta Village.
The birthday boy got to choose the morning activities for this family: presents, followed by a ride to Decatur on the MARTA train and yummy baked goods from B-Side. We finished the session by running off some of that sugar in the Decatur square.
It was a HOT July morning, which made the water of the Chattahoochee feel so good after this Saturday morning hike through the ruins of an old paper mill.
