I don't often post my own family photography, but I want to share highlights from my amazing trip to DC last weekend with my older son. We rode the train up, and spent three wonderful days exploring downtown DC. We went to three Smithsonians, the Spy Museum, the National Archives, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, we toured the White House, went to all of the major monuments including the top of the Washington Monument, and ate ice cream in the sculpture garden!
We don't often hang out alone anymore, so it was really special to have this time with a quickly growing up kid. As any parent knows, it happens so fast. I experienced a first (of many, I'm sure) for me as a parent--I embarassed my son by just being me! Sigh.
